BMW R1200 Alternator Belt Install Tool

This tool will let you install a new alternator belt with ease. 

Application: BMW Hexhead Motorcycles
Make/Model: BMW: R1200, R900RT, HP2, RnineT, R9T
Model Years: 2003- 2013

Performs the function of BMW part number 83 30 0 401 702 at a fraction of the cost.  ($177.67 is the cost of factory tool as of 7/1/2024)

Workshop manual also refers to this tool as "12 3 591 Installation tool for Elasto belt"

A new belt is recommended every 36,000 mi (60,000 km).  These belts WILL eventually break and leave you stranded, so stay ahead of that!  Ask me how I know.

Tips for success:

• Maintain axial alignment of the tool with the pulley as you rotate the engine (don't let the tool get crooked relative to the pulley / belt!) 
• Removal of spark plugs reduces torque required and makes it easier to keep tool aligned.
• Do Not use with impact drivers or hammers
• Don't drop tool on the floor.
